Putting a face to the email!

In an effort to help the teachers become familiar with our Tech Staff, Gina Pinch has started the IT Department ‘Talk to Tech’ Days at each campus! As the district grows, we all know each other less and less. There was a time when I knew everybody, and everybody knew me. Now people look for my ID (and I for theirs) to see if we are employees, parents, or volunteers. There are many staff now sprawling across many campuses.

Over the past few weeks, in addition to being at various sites for our routine repsonsibilities, we have been on site during teacher lunches, being visible and available. This provides an opportunity to meet and greet, to resolve concerns that have not yet been reported and to discuss other areas of our IT department – such as videoconferencing, EdTech and upcoming technology related professional development.

So far we have conducted ‘Talk to Tech’ Days at Pima Butte, Santa Rosa, Maricopa Elementary and Maricopa Wells. We are scheduling lunchtime ‘dates’ at the High School and Santa Cruz. We believe this time is well spent and productive as we work to keep a face on our technology department and faces on all MUSD staff.

We are ALL more than the email addresses we communicate through!
